Randall Lee Chrisman, a lifelong resident of the Bainbridge area in Southern Ohio, passed away on October 21, 2025, at the age of 74.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Roger Lee Chrisman and Mildred Grace Chrisman. After their passing, at just two and a half years old, Randy was lovingly raised by his grandparents, Charles and Anna Grace Cartwright, and also shared cherished time with his grandmother Eva Chrisman.
Randy is survived by his devoted wife, Cappie, whom he married on December 22, 1971. He is also survived by his beloved daughters: Carrie (JD) Knisley, Mid (Jonnie) Bowdle, Rachel (Ryan) King, and Sara (Chad) Lytle.
Randy deeply loved his granddaughters — Cameron and Carly Bowdle, Kaitlin Potts, Randa Knisley, and Laney Lytle — who affectionately called him Poppi.
He held a special place in his heart for his Uncle Don and Aunt Thelma Pfeifer, as well as his Pfeifer cousins and the extended Chrisman-James family.
Randy grew up in Nipgen, Ohio, where he made many lifelong friends, he considered like brothers and sisters. A proud graduate of Paint Valley High School (Class of 1969), Randy went on to earn two college degrees while working full time and raising a family.
He was an active and devoted member of the Paint Valley community, serving in many roles at the school — from announcing football, basketball, and volleyball games to coaching several sports teams.
Professionally, Randy spent more than 20 years with Smoot Construction before retiring from the Franklin County Convention Facilities Authority (FCCFA) after nearly a decade of service. He truly loved the construction industry and the people he worked alongside.
Randy faithfully served in several church communities, including the Bainbridge Church of Christ in Christian Union, LeaveAMark Church, The Gathering Place, and The Bridge at Bourneville. He also founded Alley Kids Ministry, through which he mentored and encouraged countless local children he believed in deeply.
A remarkably skilled carpenter and craftsman, Randy engineered and built countless beautiful projects throughout his life. More than anything, he will be remembered as an extraordinary man with a genuine gift for connecting with and uplifting others.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to The Bridge at Bourneville, The Gathering Place, or the Paint Valley Athletic Boosters.
Funeral services will be held 1 pm Wednesday, October 29, 2025 at The Gathering Place with Pastor John Pfeifer officiating. Following the service Randy will be laid to rest in the Bainbridge Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5-8 pm Tuesday at the Church.
The Smith-Moore-Moore-Ebright Funeral Home of Bainbridge is serving the family.
