Obituary of Randall (Randy) John Fane

Randall (Randy) John Fane

April 28, 1949 - August 17, 2025

Randy passed away at age 76 following a stroke. Preceded in death by his father Charles and mother Violet (Kotke) Fane. He is survived by his beloved wife, Lorrie Fane, his stepson Eric (Priscilla) Bruce, two beautiful grandchildren, brothers Chuck (Jennifer) and Kevin (Linda), and his sister Cheryl (Bill) Greeder. Also survived by a host of cousins, nieces and nephews, and an entire legion of friends.

Randy was born in Rockford, Illinois and moved with his family to Minnesota as a young child, where they settled in North St. Paul. Randy is a veteran of the U.S. Army, where he served in Korea during the Vietnam War. He went on to spend his entire career as a teacher at 916 VoTech/Century College where he made lifelong, true and loving friendships.

Randy loved to visit and made friends wherever he went. He also loved to drive, and would spend his mornings driving to see friends or chat with multiple friend groups he had made at coffee shops and restaurants. His love of driving and cars brought him to his post-retirement job as a dealer trade driver for Kline Nissan where, to no one's surprise, he made another large group of friends. He will be missed beyond measure.

A celebration of Randy's life will be held on Saturday, September 20th at 3:30 pm at White Bear Unitarian Universalist Church, 328 Maple Street, Mahtomedi, MN 55115.

Visitation one half hour before the service, with a gathering at a nearby restaurant following the service for those who choose to attend.

In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Ruff Start Rescue.
