Randolph Scott Obituary

Published by Legacy on May 16, 2025.
Randolph "Randy" Scott
January 5, 1958 - May 13, 2025
Randolph "Randy" Scott was born on January 5, 1958, in Buffalo, New York, to Mary Louise and Claude Scott. He was blessed with a large and loving family, growing up alongside nine siblings.
Randy was the beloved husband of Sherry Sommerfeld Scott. The two were married on June 21, 1997, in Plymouth, Minnesota, and shared a deep and joyful partnership rooted in love, faith, and service.
A devoted father and grandfather, Randy took great pride in his family and found immense joy in his children and grandchildren. He was known for his quick wit, infectious humor, and uncanny ability to strike up a conversation with anyone, anywhere. Randy had a gift for making people feel seen and heard.
Randy found new life in Jesus Christ and became deeply connected to his church community at Community Covenant Church. Alongside Sherry, he spent countless hours volunteering-mentoring youth, cooking meals, and lending a helping hand wherever it was needed. His kindness, generosity, and love for others were apparent in everything he did.
Randy loved music across many genres and was a passionate fan of Minnesota and Buffalo sports teams-especially the Buffalo Bills. He was a man who truly enjoyed the simple pleasures of life: a good laugh, a great conversation, and a delicious meal.
Randy is survived by his loving wife, Sherry; his children, Alex (Gracie), Josh (Danielle), Jeff (Robin), and Linsey (John); and his cherished grandchildren, Issac and Lilly. He is also survived by his siblings and countless dear friends, all of whom will carry forward his memory and the joy he brought into their lives.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Community Covenant Church, 901 Humboldt Avenue North, Minneapolis, MN on Monday, May 19, 2025.
Visitation begins at 11:00 a.m., followed by a memorial service at 12:00 p.m., with lunch to follow.
If you wish to send flowers for the service, please send them directly to the church.

Randy's legacy is one of warmth, humor, faith, and unconditional love. He will be deeply missed.

Randy was a wonderful man. He worked in our building and he was a friendly nice guy who could strike up a conversation with all of us. We will miss his infectious smile and can do attitude. Condolences to his family and friends.
