Randy Charles Abke

Randy Charles Abke, of Pemberville, OH passed away on Wednesday, January 15, 2025 at The Toledo Hospital. He was born on December 9, 1949 in Toledo, OH to Theodore F. and Ramona K. (Jimison) Abke. Following graduation from high school and later receiving a degree in Agri-Business, he then went on to serve in the United States Army. While serving in the reserves, he married Sandra "Sandy" S. Snyder on June 19, 1971 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in New Rochester, OH. Randy and Sandy raised four sons and celebrated over 53 years of marriage together.
Randy worked as a life-long farmer and always remained a proud veteran. He and his father Ted, co-owned Hancock Farm Chemicals, which later became Hancock Farm and Lawn. Randy was known for his great singing voice; he also was a collector of Oliver Tractors. He was a proud Ohio State Buckeye fan, and it was the alma Mater of all his sons. With so many joys in his life it was the pride he possessed for his family, and spending time with them especially his grandchildren, that brought him the greatest joy.
In addition to his wife Sandy, left to cherish his memory are his sons: Gregg (Renee) Abke of Portage, Chris (Hope) Abke of Sidney, Gary (Catherine) Abke of Hudson, and Denny (Jenny) Abke of Newman, GA. Grandchildren: Nicole, Zachary, Nathan, Emily, Jessie, Maddox, Avery, Kaden, Aaron, and Adam. Sisters: Marilyn (Jim) Tyll, and Jeanne (Gary) Holfinger. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Family and friends will be received 4-7 p.m., Monday, January 20, 2025 at the Marsh & Marsteller Funeral Home, 4094 State Route 105, Pemberville, OH. A Funeral Service will be conducted 11 a.m., Tuesday, January 21, 2025 at St. Mark's Lutheran Church, 315 S. College Drive, Bowling Green. There will be an additional time of visitation from 10 a.m., until time of service. Officiating will be, Pr. Robin Small. Interment will be in Fish Cemetery, Pemberville, OH. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials take the form of contributions to: St. Mark's Lutheran Church or the American Diabetes Association.
