Randy Steven Gurule

Randy S. Gurule, age 61 of Espanola, NM, passed away peacefully on July 23. 2025. He was born in Ingelwood, California, on May 7, 1964, to Elevi and Eva Gurule. At the age of 4 years old, Randy and his family moved to Espanola, where they all established their livelihood.

He was preceded in death by his father Elevi J. Gurule (Gurito). 

He is survived by his mother Eva Gurule; significant other Colleen Lopez; sister Lisa Naranjo and husband Russell; brother Mario Gurule; niece, Jessica Atencio; nephew Devin Duran, (Diana); and great nieces Ariel and Cassie Atencio.

He was a graduate of the Espanola Valley High School. After graduation, he attended Vogue Cosmetology and became a licensed cosmetologist. He began his career in the Espanola Valley at various hair salons. To name one of the few was the Total Look Hair Salon. Later, he was ambitious to open his own shop and named it, La Vista Hair Salon. Throughout his career, he built his clientele where they became not only customers but good friends and acquaintances.

Randy will be remembered forever in the hearts of his family and friends. We are blessed for having known him and will miss him dearly.

A Rosary will be recited on Thursday, August 7, 2025, at 9:30 am at Sacred Heart Church in Espanola, NM, with Mass to follow at 10:30 am.  Burial to follow at the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Espanola, NM.

Serving as Pallbearers are Paul (Boy) Martinez, Raymond Martinez, Andrew Sanchez, Michael Salazar, Richard (Doc) Lujan and Michael Trujillo.
