Randy Lee Thayer, Sr., of Ionia, passed away October 25, 2023 at the age of 68. He was born in Sheridan, Michigan, the son of Joseph and Donna (Hyatt) Thayer on March 24, 1955. Randy was an avid outdoorsman- he especially enjoyed hunting and fishing. Randy made his living scrapping and liked working on vehicles and building model cars in his free time. Above all, Randy loved his family. He looked forward to spending time with his grandchildren any chance he got.
Preceding Randy in death are his mother, Donna; father and stepmother, Joseph and Beverly Thayer; grandson, Shane Richie; great-granddaughter, Valerie Bruce; step-brother, Jack Lily; and aunt, Norma Jean Thayer. He is survived by his beloved wife, Maria Thayer; children, Robert (Melissa) Beach, Michael Sena, Marie Sena, Eric Clarmont, Randy (Nikki) Thayer, Jr., Shelby Jean Clarmont, and Natasha (Jimmy) Thayer; 24 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; sister, Nancy (Ken) Council; brother, Joe Thayer; step-brother, Gary Lily; and special friends, Tom Garawberg and Dean Franks.
A Celebration of Life will be held a later date. Arrangements are entrusted to Lehman Funeral Homes. Online condolences may be made at www.lehmanfuneralhomes.com.
