Delma Ray Ables, age 82, passed away on Monday, October 7, 2024, at his home in Ripley, TN. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, October 10, 2024, at 1:00 PM at the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home in Brownsville, TN. Burial will follow at the Woodville Cemetery in the Woodville Community. Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 10, 2024, from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM at the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home in Brownsville, TN.
Ray was born on December 28, 1941, to Walter and Vera Burks Ables. He was owner and operator of Ray Ables Garage. He was a hard worker and spent his time building a business helping people with their mechanical needs.
He is survived by his two sons, Anthony “Tony” Ables (Kitty) of Ripley, TN, and Daniel Wade Ables of Ripley, TN. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dot Daniel Ables; his parents, Walter and Vera Burks Ables; three brothers, George Ables, Acey Ables, William Andrew Ables, and one sister, Elizabeth Clement.
Pallbearers for the service will be Bradley White, Lanny Moore, Chris Flowers, Walter Clement, Ricky Williams, Shane Williams, Clay Weaver and Logan Buckner. Honorary Pallbearer will be Jack Lynn Walden.
All arrangements and services are under the direction of the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home in Brownsville, TN.
