Ray Blackman

Ray Blackman, age 72 of Rockport, Texas, passed away on January 4, 2026. He was born on July 3, 1953 in Uvalde, Texas.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Marvin J. and Mary Etta Blackman.

He is survived by his loving family which includes Wife of 34 years, Diane Bourgeois, Daughter, Tammy Escobedo, Granddaughter, Emma Diane Brown, Sister, Jean Blackman, Brothers, M.J. Blackman, Russell Blackman, and Dale Blackman and numerous Nieces and Nephews.

Ray was a man who found his greatest joy in the outdoors and the kitchen. An avid fisherman and hunter, he felt most at home in nature, though he was equally skilled at nurturing life in his own backyard garden. His passion for food was well-known; he spent countless hours drawing inspiration from cooking shows to perfect his craft. Above all, Ray was a master of the grill, and nothing made him happier than sharing an excellent barbeque with those he loved.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, January 14, 2026 from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm at Mission Park Dominion, 20900 I-10, San Antonio, TX 78257. A Graveside Service will be held Thursday, January 15, 2026 at 10:30 am at Mission Burial Park Dominion.
