Ray Chumley

Ray M. Chumley, 84, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 1, 2026, at Deaconess Midtown Hospital.

Ray was born on July 12, 1941, in Montgomery, Alabama to the late Roy M. and Nellie (Strength) Chumley. Ray was an avid hunter and fisherman. Ray also loved to spend time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was a very active member of New Bethel Baptist Church where he taught Sunday School for years. Ray loved his job as a bio med tech at Deaconess Hospital, where he worked for 39 years.

Surviving Ray are his wife of 45 years, Ann Chumley; three sons, Curt (Tracy) Chumley, Ryan (Chrissy) Chumley, and Kyle (Ashley) Chumley; a brother, Kenneth Chumley; seven grandchildren, Sydney Chumley, Kyndall Chumley, Cole Branson, Cooper Chumley, Rhett Chumley, Walker Chumley, and Will Chumley; and two great grandchildren, Kylan and Kaioni.

There will be a Funeral Service held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, March 5, 2026, at Pierre Funeral Home, 2601 West Franklin Street, Rev. Cole Hughes officiating. Burial will follow in Northview Cemetery in Elberfeld, Indiana.

Friends may visit with the family from 3:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Wednesday, March 4, 2026, and from 10:00 AM until service time on Thursday, March 5, 2026, at Pierre Funeral Home.
