Mr. Ray Houston Collett “Sonny”, age 86 of Richmond, VA, formerly of Rockwood, passed away on Monday, October 20, 2025. He was born on September 23, 1939, in Moores, TN. Ray was a US Navy veteran and was also retired insurance agent with Home Beneficial. He was also a former Rockwood City Councilman. He was of the Baptist faith. He is preceded in death by his parents: Reuben & Nellie Collett; sisters: Vivian Collett & Joan Alexy. He is survived by:

Sons: Jeff Collett (Yvonne) and Jerry Collett (Twila)
6 Grandchildren: Corey Collett, Allison Marchieano, Jordan Collett, Dylan Collett, Nathan McCulen, Brennon Atwell
3 Great Grandchildren: Bentley Collett, Mason Daniel, Polly Marchieano
Brother: Joe Steven Collett
Sisters: Janie Easter, Susie Parker
and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins
The family will receive friends on Monday, October 27th, 2025, from 11:00am-1:00 pm ET at Evans Mortuary in Rockwood. Funeral service will follow at 1:00 pm ET with Rev. Hyle Waldo officiating. Graveside and interment services will follow in the Odd Fellows Cemetery in Rockwood with full military honors presented by the U.S. Navy Honor Guard and the Roane County Military Memorial Honor Guard. Evans Mortuary is serving the family of Mr. Ray "Sonny" Collett.
