Ray Charles Myers, age 65, of Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, passed from this life on August 12, 2025, at Freighter View Assisted Living in Sault Ste. Marie. He was born on May 9, 1960, in Lansing, Michigan, to Melvin and Barbara (DuBreuil) Myers. Ray grew up in Cheboygan, Michigan, and graduated with the Cheboygan High School Class of 1978. After graduation, he proudly served his country in the United States Navy as a diesel mechanic. Following his military service, Ray embraced an adventurous lifestyle, working construction jobs in California, Michigan, and New York, before eventually settling in Traverse City, Michigan. It was there he met and married Stephanie Popp. The couple shared several years together and welcomed a daughter into their lives. In 2021, he relocated to Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, where he spent his later years with his father. In his free time, Ray loved fishing, watching television, especially his favorite show, M.A.S.H., and cheering for the Detroit Tigers. Ray is survived by his daughter, Mary Katherine "Ryn" Myers of Traverse City; father, Melvin of Sault Ste. Marie; and sister, Suzanne (Charles) Reynolds of Cheboygan; and step-brother, Darren Goetz of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Ray was preceded in death by his mother, Barbara. Per Ray's wishes, no services will be held at this time. Family Life Funeral Homes – Sault Ste. Marie assisted the family with arrangements. Condolences may be left to the family at www.familylifefh.com.
