Rayfield Walker Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Agape Life Services Funeral Home on Jan. 27, 2026.
Rayfield N. Walker, age 72, passed away on January 12, 2026, in Virginia Beach, Virginia. He was born on September 27, 1953, in King George, Virginia, to the late Ida Ruth Walker and Arthur "Rayfield" Walker, both of whom preceded him in death. King George was always home to Rayfield, no matter where life took him.

Rayfield proudly served his country in the United States military during his younger years as a paratrooper, stationed at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. After his military service, he worked in construction and later attended school to become an electrician. He loved fixing things, working on cars, and piddling in different projects, always keeping himself busy with his hands.

Known for his fun-loving spirit and kind heart, Rayfield enjoyed life, loved to laugh, and was always willing to help others. He was truly a good person who left a lasting impression on those who knew him.

In 2024, Rayfield was diagnosed with lung cancer, which he faced with strength and determination.

Rayfield had no children of his own, but he was a devoted father figure to Mike and Michelle, children by love, whom he cherished deeply.

He was one of four siblings and the only son, and is survived by his loving sisters: Linda Walker Wells, Brenda Bradford, and Sharon "Sherry" White.

He is also survived by seven nieces and nephews, a host of great-nieces and great-nephews, and many other family members and friends who will miss him dearly.

All services are entrusted to Agape Life Services Funeral Home, located at 2105 Emancipation Highway, Fredericksburg, Virginia 22401. Rayfield will be laid to rest with military honors at Quantico National Cemetery.

Rayfield N. Walker will be remembered for his service, his skills, his laughter, and the love he shared. His memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
