Raymond Russell Ackerman

Raymond Russell Ackerman, 91, of Stroud Township, passed away on Friday June 10, 2022 at his home. He was the husband of the late Shirley J. (Marshall) Ackerman who died January 12, 2018.
Born May 4, 1931 in East Stroudsburg, the son of the late Harold and Marie (Papillon) Ackerman. He was a lifetime resident of Monroe County.
Ray was a Veteran of the United States Army, serving during the Korean War.
Prior to his retirement he worked as an appliance repairman for Sears for 34 years.
Ray is survived by his sons, Scott A. Ackerman and his wife Connie of Wind Gap, and Steven C. Ackerman of Kunkletown. His grandchildren Kelli McFall and her husband Jeff of Stroudsburg, Ryan Ackerman of Mount Bethel and Scott E. Ackerman and his wife Carly of Pen Argyl. His great grandchildren Giavanna, Nastassia and Briella Ackerman and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his sisters, Lorraine Modolo and Doris Long.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday June 15, 2022 at 12:00 noon at the Bensing Thomas Funeral Home, 401 North 5th Street, Stroudsburg.
Burial will follow in the Laurelwood Cemetery, Stroudsburg. There will be a viewing on Wednesday June 15, 2022 from 10:00am until the time of the services at the funeral home.
