Raymond Belcher Jr., age 76, of West Salem, Ohio, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on November 12, 2025. Raymond was born on September 11, 1949, in Clear Fork, West Virginia to the late Raymond and Juanita Belcher. He was one of four children.
Raymond lived a life defined by hard work, deep roots, and a love for the joys of country living.
Raymond dedicated his career to the steel industry working on projects such as the TOW Missile Systems Program. Raymond retired from ITW Steel in Cleveland, Ohio, where he served as a Plant Manager and earned the respect and friendship of many throughout his years there. Beyond his work, he found his greatest happiness on his farm, where his cowboy spirit truly came to life. Whether tending to his land or sharing stories with loved ones, Raymond embodied the values of grit, loyalty, and love.
He is survived by his beloved children, Lynette Rowe and her husband Keith Rowe of Sullivan, OH., Christine Barnes and her husband Jerry Barnes Jr of Virginia Beach, VA., and Jessica Lubarski and her husband Michael Lubarski of Spring Hill, FL.; and by his cherished grandchildren, Elizabeth Rowe, Joshua Rowe, Jerry W. Barnes III, Jon Wagner Jr., Cody Ray Barnes, and Colten Lubarski, and great grandchildren Declan Steinbaugh and Maddex Steinbaugh.
Raymond was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Juanita Belcher; his brother James David Belcher; his sister, Carol Craig; and his brother, Edward Dewayne Belcher.
Raymond will be laid to rest at the family homestead in Clear Fork, West Virginia.
A celebration of Raymond’s life will be held on November 29, 2025, between 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. at First Congressional Church located at 503 State Route 224 Sullivan, OH 44880, where family and friends will gather to honor the life of a hardworking man who left behind a legacy of love, strength, and cowboy spirit.
