Raymond Birnbaum
February 23, 1941 – May 25, 2025
Raymond Birnbaum, 84, passed away on May 25, 2025, in Opelika, Alabama. Born on February 23, 1941, in Chester, Pennsylvania, he lived a full and vibrant life marked by dedication to his wife Karla, his family, a passion for learning, and an enduring sense of humor.
Ray pursued higher education with determination and excellence. He earned a degree in mechanical engineering from Drexel University and went on to complete a master's degree at the University of Delaware. His academic achievements reflected his sharp intellect and commitment to personal growth.
Throughout his life, Ray found joy in the simple pleasures that brought him closer to the people and things he loved most. He had a deep affection for his children-Deborah Juhl and Heather Harris. Heather expressed that he was a wonderful parent that filled her life with laughter and unconditional love and support.
A man of great warmth and wit, Ray was known for his wonderful sense of humor. Whether sharing stories or offering a clever remark, he brought laughter and lightness to those around him. He also had a special place in his heart for animals, especially his dogs, who were cherished companions over the years.
Golf was one of Ray and Karla's favorite pastimes to do together. They relished time spent on the course, enjoying both the game itself and the camaraderie it fostered. It was one of many ways they embraced life with enthusiasm and grace.
Ray was preceded in death by his sister Rosalind Mondel and brother Irving Birnbaum. Their memories remained close to him throughout his life.
May Ray Birnbaum's memory bring comfort to those who knew him and continue to inspire love, laughter, and resilience in their lives.
