Raymond Charles Brown, affectionately known as "Charlie," passed away suddenly at Wentworth-Douglass Hospital on December 11, 2024, at the age of 72. He was born on July 15, 1952, in Newburyport, Massachusetts, to George James Brown Sr. and Luraina June (Bickford) Brown.
Charlie moved to Epping, New Hampshire, in 1982 with his first wife Sheila, where he quickly became a beloved and familiar figure in the community. Charlie was an active member of the Epping American Legion Post 51, where he took great pride in organizing and contributing to the many events hosted there. Charlie loved spending time with his friends at the Legion, enjoying karaoke nights, and being a central part of the social fabric of the town. His generosity and hard work at the Legion left a lasting impact on the people of Epping. Charlie worked for many years as a master cabinet maker for Valliant Industries. He was a brilliant and meticulous woodworker. His dedication to his craft shined through in his life. Charlie was a member of the armed forces and served in the Navy.
While Charlie enjoyed his role in the community, he was also a homebody at heart. He cherished the quiet moments spent at home with his beloved wife, Robbyn, enjoying simple pleasures gazing at the beautiful landscapes and enjoying nature together. Charlie and Robbyn's love story began in 2016 when they met on a blind date. Their connection was instant, and they spent their first date at the Deerfield Fair. The couple quickly fell madly in love, and less than a year later, on September 16, 2017, they were married.
Charlie and his wife Robbyn moved to Lebanon, Maine in June of 2022 where they could enjoy their retirement with the beautiful scenic views of the Northeast.
Charlie is predeceased by his parents, George James Brown Sr. and Luraina June (Bickford) Brown, his first wife of 46 years Sheila Brown, as well as his sister, Mary Jane Evans and his brother, George 'Chippy' Brown Jr.
He is survived by his wife, Robbyn, his two sons, Raymond 'Little Charlie' Jr. Joseph Brown and his wife Cheryl, his 5 brothers Benjamin, Kenneth, Harold, Michael and Richard. His 2 sisters Laura Roy and Lurena Eaton. Charlie also leaves behind three stepchildren, Christopher, Laura and Sarah, along with 8 grandchildren: Mercedes, Brayden, Marcy, Stephen, Ziara, Sophia, Brooklynne, Emma, and two great grandchildren: Tristen and 'Little Little' Charli.
The family would like to invite everyone to celebrate Charlie's life with a Mercy Meal on Saturday, February 15, 2025 from 1:00 - 5:00 PM at the Epping Legion, 232 Calef Hwy. Epping, NH. 03042.
