Raymond Dwight Brown was called home on August 6th, 2025.
To call him a loving husband and devoted father would be an understatement. He was the rock of his family-the kind of man who worked full-time but never missed a single one of his children's games or events. His presence was constant, his support unwavering.
Ray's sense of humor was legendary. His quick wit, playful spirit, and outrageous stories could light up any room. Whether he was making a stranger laugh or lifting the spirits of someone he loved, Ray had a gift for joy that made people feel better just by being around him.
He also had a deep compassion for others-both people and animals. He quietly supported many organizations and causes that reflected his big heart and belief in doing the right thing, simply because it was right.
In 1972, Ray met the love of his life, Rolene Nash. They married in 1973 and over the next 52 years, their love never wavered. Early on, he marked each anniversary with a single rose for every year they were married. When the bouquet became too large to carry, he came up with his own system-red roses for each decade, yellow for each year, always paired with baby's breath. A simple gesture that captured a lifetime of devotion.
Ray and Rolene had two kids, Heather Brown and Cory Brown. He poured his heart into raising them, not just as a father, but as a guide, protector, and friend. His lessons, his laughter, and his love will remain with them forever.
He was truly one of a kind. A husband, a father, a friend-and a legend whose memory will never fade.
Graveside services will be held on Friday, August 8, 11:00am in Resurrection Memorial Cemetery.
