(DRACUT) – Raymond "Ray" V. Carbonneau Jr., age 52, a longtime resident of Dracut, passed away at Lowell General Hospital, on Wednesday, October 23, 2024 surrounded by his loving family.
He was born in Lowell on October 6, 1972 and was the son of Lorraine M. (Gendreau) Carbonneau and the late Raymond V. Carbonneau, Sr.
Ray is a graduate of Dracut High School. After graduating high school, Ray suffered a spinal cord injury, resulting in quadriplegia. He was an avid sports fan, cheering on (or yelling at) all Boston sports teams. He enjoyed spending time at Foxwoods, particularly playing blackjack & baccarat.
Ray is survived by his loving mother Lorraine; his brother Chris Carbonneau and his wife Jen of Dracut; his sister Lisa Laake and her husband Kevin of Timnath, CO; and nephews Drew & Jack Carbonneau and Nolan & Bryce Laake.
He is predeceased by his father Raymond V. Carbonneau, Sr.
His family would like to thank the aides who helped support Ray over the years. Thank you to John Daigle, Chris Vadnais, & Nuel Nieves. They were like family to Ray.
Funeral Services and Interment will be held privately. A Memorial Mass will be held on May 31, 2025 at 4:00 PM at St. Francis Church in Dracut.
