Raymond Arden "Ray" Chafin age 87 of Centre, AL died Monday, May 5, 2025 at his residence. A Celebration of Life service and Moose Pilgrimage will be held at the West GA Moose Lodge, on Saturday, May 10th at 5:00 PM ET. The address is 401 Maple Street, Suite C, Carrolton, GA 30117.
Ray was born July 24, 1937 in Atlanta, GA to parents, Lyman Arden and Alice Marcelia Wells Chafin. After high school Ray served in the US Marines where he obtained the rank of Corporal. He later owned and operated Type Repro Service, Inc. in Atlanta, GA. He was a member of West GA(formerly Mableton) Moose Lodge and had served as State President of the Moose Lodge Organization. He most recently was a member of Beech Creek Methodist Church and enjoyed time with family and friends at his home on the lake.
Survivors include wife of 37 years, Doris Broyles Goza Chafin, daughters, Deborah Jean Goza of Breman, GA, Darlene Goza Freeman(Mike) of Dallas, GA., Sharon Chafin Howell(David), of Dallas, GA., Pamela Goza Swafford(Keith) of Dallas, GA., sons, Michael Howard Goza(Tina) of Gaylesville, AL., Jeffrey Ray Chafin(Heather) of Tallapoosa, GA., grandchildren, Nicole Freeman, Melissa Coley, Jessica George, Katie Goza, Michael Shane Freeman, Kelly Ingram, Kimberly McKinney, Travis Dever, Levi Morgan, Katie Webb, Anna Harris, Emily Corley, Colton Chafin, Hunter Chafin, great-grandchildren, Kambryn Millsap, Dylan Keaton, Jake Keaton, Jayden Horn, Jace George, Kynlee Freeman, Logan Goza, Easton Freeman, Wyatt Goza, Wiley Freeman, Koltin McWhorter, Payton McKinney, Lane McKinney, Austin Ingram, Serenity Webb, Kylee Harris, Kaylee Harris, Riley Corley, great great-grandchildren, Kolby Millsap, Everlynn Keaton, sister, Joyce Chafin Jackson, and brother, George Franklin Chafin.
Mr. Chafin was preceded in death by daughter, Claudia Raye Chafin, parents and sister, Wilma Chafin Crunk.
