Raymond Wayne Davis, 79, of Mt Vernon, passed away Thursday April 18, 2024, at Country Club Rehabilitation Center, in Mt Vernon.
Ray was born November 22, 1944, in Utica to Earl James and Myrtle {Clark} Davis.
He married Gwen Feasel on June 21, 1964.
He worked as a meter reader and installer at Licking Rural Electric for over 30 years. He was an avid outdoorsman, loved hunting and fishing. He was a big Ohio State Buckeye fan. He was an oil-based landscape and wildlife painter. He could fix anything! Even in the Nursing Home he knew how to fix their electrical problems. He liked to play pool with the nickname “Big Daddy.”
Ray will be deeply missed by his wife; children Trisha Davis, Tracy Davis, Traig (Sandy) Davis; grandchildren TJ (Carmen) Yarman, Christopher Yarman, Ashley (Seth) Shannon, Austin Davis, Autumn Stehly, Ayla Stehly; great-granddaughters Lia and Emma Yarman.
Ray was preceded in death by his brothers, Donald, Gerald, Gene, and James.
Graveside services will be Monday, April 22nd, 2024, at 12:00 noon, at Mt Vernon Memorial Gardens with Pastor Dale George from Cypress Church officiating.
