Raymond Glenn Obituary

Raymond Glenn
08/21/2024
Raymond W. Glenn, 89, passed away in Wallingford on Wednesday, August 21, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Marylyn (Sheehy) Glenn for 62 years. He was born on July 28, 1935 in North Haven to the late Anna (Hess) and Frank Glenn. Ray was the youngest of eight siblings. He was a graduate of the Lyman Hall High School (1953) and the Paier School of Art. He proudly served his country in the Marine Corps.
Ray was a graphic artist and established the Glenn Advertising Agency. He founded Design House Art Store in Hamden and finished his career as a realtor. He was an extremely creative and giving person with an amazing sense of humor. He received many awards for his beautiful works of art and his writing. Ray enjoyed the beach, ice cream, travel, golf, skiing, playing cards, watching football, and UConn basketball. He treasured every moment and laugh with his lifelong friends. His greatest joy was spending time with his five grandchildren: Riley O'Connell, Brendan O'Connell, Jameson O'Connell, Callie Casulla and Liam Casulla. He supported them in all endeavors and could always be found cheering on the sidelines at their sporting events.
Ever-present by Ray's side was the love of his life, his wife, Marylyn. He also leaves behind his adoring daughters: Michelle Glenn O'Connell and her husband John, and Sherri Glenn Casulla and her husband Fran. He is survived by his brother, Edward and his wife Maureen, along with numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his siblings, Frank, Alice, Madeline, Lily, Buddy, and Bobby. His smile and fun-loving demeanor will be deeply missed by his friends and family. Ray's family would like to thank the wonderful caregivers who treated him with dignity and compassion.
His family will receive relatives and friends directly at the Church of the Resurrection, 115 Pond Hill Road, Wallingford, on Tuesday, August 27, from 9 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow with military honors at St. John Cemetery, Wallingford. In lieu of flowers, gifts in Ray's memory may be sent to the Alzheimer's Association Connecticut Chapter at 200 Executive Blvd., Suite 4B, Southington 06489 or www.alz.org/ct . Arrangements are under the direction of The Wallingford Funeral Home.
