Raymond H. Hassing (age 87) of Sioux City, passed away unexpectedly on September 5, 2025 at Unity Point Hospital.
Raymond was born February 12, 1938 in Worthington, MN to John and Margaret Hassing. He graduated from Worthington High School in 1956. Raymond proudly served in the National Guard. He worked in various towns in northern Iowa until he started his own business replacing glass. Raymond married his wife Audrey in 1970, and they were blessed with 2 children Robert and Amy.
Raymond enjoyed many hobbies including attending classic car shows, he was a model railroad enthusiast, he admired old Ford tractors, and always loved having a big garden. Raymond was a master at building and fixing things; he was always working on projects. Raymond and Audrey recently celebrated their marriage of 55 years. Her companionship was a source of strength and joy for him throughout their years together.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife Audrey, son Robert (Jona) Hassing of Sioux City, his daughter Amy (Mike) Haller of Sioux City, and 5 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents John and Margaret Hassing.
Visitation will be held at Meyer Brothers Chapel on September 18 at 4pm, with service at 5 pm, officiated by Pastor Michael Ring. Raymond will then be cremated and laid to rest at Memorial Park cemetery at a later date.
