Raymond Woodrow Henley Jr.

Raymond Woodrow Henley, Jr., 84, of Knightdale, passed away November 8, 2025. He was born May 18, 1941, in Raleigh, to the late Raymond Woodrow Henley, Sr. and Pauline Hunt Henley.

Raymond was the perfect husband and father, devoted to his family and especially to "his girls," whom he loved more than anything. Known for his warm heart and friendly nature, he never met a stranger and built lifelong friendships wherever he went. A man of deep faith, Raymond was a firm believer in the power of prayer.

Even in his later years, Raymond's energy and enthusiasm for life were unmatched. He was always smiling, content, and never one to complain. After many dedicated years of hard work, Raymond retired from PYA-Monarch and U.S. Foods. He came out of retirement to work for Stevens Food Group and over the years has made countless friends and memories.

Raymond is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Sue Henley; his children, Lisa and Roger Skinner, and Laurie and Scott Patton; sister, Barbara Griffin; grandchildren, Justin and Kristy, Melissa and George, Kyle, Gaige and Evan, Blayde, and Tyler; and great-grandchildren, Abby, Evie, Hattie, Bella, and Lainey; nieces and nephews, Chet, Sharon, Randy, Ashley and Natt; special cousins and brother, Pat and Gerry Dunham. He is preceded in death by his sister, Carolyn Henley.

A funeral service will be held at 12:00 pm, Tuesday, November 11, 2025, at Divine Crossings Baptist Church, 440 Little Devine Rd, Selma, NC 27576. The family will receive friends at the church immediately following the service and lunch will be provided by the church. Interment will take place at 12:00 pm, Friday, November 14, 2025, at Montlawn Memorial Park, 2911 S. Wilmington St, Raleigh, NC 27603.
