Raymond D. McAfee, 78, passed away on January 18, 2025, at his home while in the loving presence of his family. He was born June 27, 1946, in Linden, Tennessee to the Late Charles McAfee and Wilma (Ward) Butler. Raymond Proudly served in the United States Navy. He enjoyed listening to country music and going camping. One of his favorite activities was just sitting on his back porch watching the birds and the deer. He lived out a great life of many years with his caretakers, his brother, Lewis Ramey and his sister-in-law, Elizabeth Ramey.
Raymond is survived by his brothers, Lewis (Elizabeth) Ramey, Van Ramey, and Jerry McAfee; his sisters, Wanda McAfee, and Lora (Kevin) Russel; his step-daughter, Tina Conners, as well as many nephews and nieces.
In addition to his parents, Ray is preceded in death by his brothers, Perry McAfee, Ward Ramey; and his sister, Rita McKeown.
Ray’s family wishes to give a special Thank You to Hospice of Guernsey, Katelyn Regula R.N., and the Kidney Care Center of Cambridge.
A cremation will take place under the direction of the BOLIN-DIERKES FUNERAL HOME, 1271 BLUE AVENUE ZANESVILLE. Ray will be laid to rest at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, 10175 Rawiga Rd. Seville, OH. 44273, at a later date.
