He leaves his Life Partner of 25 years, Ada I. Carattini; seven children, ten grandchildren and three great grandchildren. He was predeceased by four brothers and sisters.
Ray was born in Manhattan, NY the son of the late Nene and Felicita Mercado.
He was a "Jack of all Trades" working and helping out anyone in need. Ray also worked as a delivery driver for Crown Chicken in Southbridge. He had a blunt but honest sense of humor and a huge heart to back it up. Ray had a love for animals especially turtles. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his beautiful large family which he was so proud of.
Calling hours for Ray will be held on Saturday, Aug. 24th from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM in the Daniel T. Morrill Funeral Home, 130 Hamilton St., Southbridge.
Funeral services and burial will be private at a later date.
