Raymond Duard Minix, age 75, passed away peacefully in the early morning hours on Thursday, May 23, 2024, at his home in Newnan, surrounded by his family. Raymond was born on August 21, 1948, in Newnan, GA, one of nine children to the late James Duard and Irene Smith Minix.
Raymond enjoyed cooking, hunting, and watching wrestling. His true joy in life was riding his motorcycle. Whether it was a short trip or a trip that took a couple of days, if he was on his motorcycle, he was happy. Above all else, Raymond truly loved his family. He will be remembered for his kind heart and will be truly missed by his friends and family.
The funeral service celebrating Raymond's life if Sunday, May 26, 2024, at 2:00 PM in the chapel of McKoon Funeral Home, 38 Jackson Street, in Newnan, with Rev. Brian Hosmer officiating. Burial will follow the service at Rock Springs Baptist Church Cemetery, in Sharpsburg. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 12:30 PM until service time at the funeral home.

Along with his parents, Raymond is preceded in death by his brothers, Herman Lee Minix, Horace Fonzer Minix, and sister Fannie Irene Vaughn. He is survived by his son, James "Jamie" Edward Minix and his wife Jennifer; granddaughter, Mickenzi Minix; grandson, Hunter Haygood and great grandchildren, Johnny McCormick and Zoey McCormick. He is also survived by his siblings, David Wayne Minx, of Grantville, Mary Gladys Parrott, of Fayetteville, Dorothy Mae Hunt, of Newnan, Ellen Marie Minix, of Turin, Nancy Faye Frederick, of Pine Mountain, Hazel Michelle Brown, of Grantville, and numerous nieces and nephews.
