Published by Legacy on Sep. 24, 2024.
Raymond Montie Van Wye, 71, of Royal Oak, Michigan, passed away unexpectedly at home on September 17, 2024. He was born on July 1, 1953 in Riverview, Michigan to his parents, Nat and Laura (nee Montie) Van Wye. At the age of four, his family moved to Royal Oak, where he would spend most of his life.
Raymond attended Guardian Angels Catholic School and graduated from Bishop Foley High School. His work ethic began early as he joined his father's machine shop at the age of 12. He dedicated many years to his career as a machinist, notably spending 16 years with Beaver Precision until the company's closure.
On March 19, 1993, Raymond married the love of his life, Elizabeth, in Warren. Together, they cherished many wonderful years. Raymond retired two years ago, enjoying newfound time with family and indulging in his passions.
In his free time, Raymond took great pride in housekeeping and lawn work, maintaining a welcoming home. He loved spending time with his beloved cats and dogs and was an avid reader. A military and automobile historian, he had a particular fondness for World War II and was passionate about rock and roll music.
Raymond was known for his kindness and warmth, leaving a lasting impression on everyone he met. He is survived by his devoted wife, Elizabeth Van Wye. He is preceded in death by his parents and two baby siblings.
Services for Raymond will be private. His memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
