Raymond Floyd Munson

Raymond Floyd Munson of Reynoldsburg, Ohio transitioned peacefully on the afternoon of September 16, 2022 surrounded by his loving family.
Ray, as he was affectionately known, was born in Scranton, Pennsylvania on March 29, 1927, to Beatrice Munson and Raymond Munson. Ray will be remembered for his many accomplishments. He was an outstanding high school athlete recognized for his prowess on the football field. Ray joined the United States Navy at 17 years of age during his senior year in high school in order to serve alongside his fellow countrymen during World War II. He once again answered his countries call during the Korean Conflict.
After World War II Ray became a bulldog through and through graduating from the University of Georgia in 1950. He spent his professional career in manufacturing, specifically production of shipping containers for thousands of different products delivered globally.
Ray married a "Southern Belle", Frankie Sanders from Lizella, Georgia on October 18, 1950. Married over 71 years Ray and Frankie were each other's lifelong companions and friends. They were blessed with two children: William and Cathy.
Ray enjoyed sports and was a prolific golfer, scoring in the 70s on the golf course into his mid-eighties. He was a member of the Reynoldsburg Baptist Church. Spending time with his family was fundamental to who he was.
Ray is survived by his wife Frankie: brother Tommy: children William and Cathy; grandchildren Nick, Mike and Jordan; great grandchild Sullivan and many, many friends.
A Visitation will be held on Monday, September 26, 2022, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Pfeifer Funeral Home, where his Funeral will follow at 11AM, with Pastor Greg Savage officiating. Burial in the Glen Rest Memorial Estate. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Raymond's memory to Samaritan's Purse, P.O. Box 3000, Boone, NC 28607.
