Raymond "Ray" Waddle Obituary

Raymond "Ray" Winfield Waddle, a beacon of laughter and a lover of all things adventurous, moved on from this world on November 13, 2025, leaving behind a legacy rich in joy and creativity. Born on October 15, 1972, Ray graced the lives of many with his unwavering spirit and zest for life.

In his professional journey, Ray dedicated his talents at Black Oak Cabinetry and Waverly Hills, where he contributed not just his craftsmanship but his warmth and enthusiasm to everyone fortunate enough to cross his path. His work was an extension of his vibrant personality—much like the lively celebrations he adored. With a heart that embraced his inner child, he passionately hosted Halloween parties for over 21 years at his beloved haunted trail, turning every celebration into a hauntingly delightful experience filled with laughter and thrills. Halloween was more than a holiday for Ray; it was a season of magic that ignited his creative spirit, allowing him to express his fun-loving nature.

An avid outdoorsman, Ray reveled in the beauty of nature, finding solace and adventure at "The Creek," a cherished escape that offered him moments of introspection and camaraderie with the great outdoors. His hobbies, a testament to his eclectic interests, included a passion for collecting action figures and comic books, reflecting a whimsical side that delighted in the fantastical. He was also a true Trekkie, gazing at the stars with a sense of wonder that echoed the boundless curiosity of his youth.

Above all, Ray’s proudest accomplishments lay within the hearts of his family and children. His devotion to them was as deep as the roots of the tallest tree, anchoring his life with purpose and love. He injected humor and adventure into daily life, encouraging playfulness and imagination in the hearts of those he cherished most.

Ray's vibrant spirit leaves a void, yet his legacy of laughter and love will continue to resonate through the memories shared by family and friends. Though he has departed, the echoes of joy he instilled will forever inhabit the corners of every Halloween celebration and every gathering in the great outdoors. As we remember Ray, let us celebrate the big kid at heart who taught us that life, much like a good horror film, is best enjoyed with a touch of adventure and a sense of fun.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Preston and Marilyn Waddle' nephews, Marvin King and Paul Ross and his brother-laws, Garry Guynes and Joe Ross.

Ray leaves behind to cherish his memories, his wife, Trinia Waddle; children, Jason (Kristen) Waddle, Tessa Waddle, Hunter Waddle, Tatum Waddle, Wendy Baldree, Tori Burgess, Jimmy Groessel, Summer Groessel and Isaiah Ice; 5 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; sisters, Carolyn Guynes, Linda (Garry Greenwood) King and Melissa Ross; niece, Carrie Guynes; nephews, Eric Guynes, Anthony King and William King; cousins and friends.

A celebration of Ray's life will be held at the VFW Post 1181 (back hall), 6518 Blevins Gap Road, Louisville, KY on Tuesday, November 25, 2025 at 6pm.
