Raymond was born on September 1, 1925 and lived his entire life in Severn, Maryland. After graduation from Glen Burnie High School in 1942, he enlisted in the U.S. Army for the duration of World War ll. After returning home from the war, he returned to his government job and married Elsie M. Remmey in April 1949. In 1973, during a government reduction in force, Raymond retired as an Electrical Engineer GS13, Office of the Chief of Engineers at the age of 47. He and Elsie had become very interested in genealogy and they traveled the world in search of information on their ancestors until her death in 2012. He continued to live in Severn near his daughter until moving to Morningside House of Friendship in 2022. Raymond was preceded in death by his infant sister, as well as his parents, James H. and Margaret B. Ringgold, and his sister Virginia R Martin. Raymond is survived by his daughter Patricia R. Nichols, son in law Michael Nichols, three grandchildren Michelle Saumenig and her husband Art, Matthew Nichols and his wife Nicole, and Jaime Nichols, as well as his three great grandchildren Savannah, Olivia, and Camden. Burial will follow at a later date in the Maryland Veterans Cemetery in Crownsville, Maryland.
