Raymond Robb Obituary

Raymond E. Robb, 95, of Lima, OH, formerly of Latrobe, passed away on Thursday, Feb. 5, 2026, at his daughter's home. He was born on Oct. 2, 1930, in Derry, the son of the late Walter M. Robb and Margaret Keys Robb. After attending Latrobe High School, Ray joined the United States Army. He served in Germany and Austria before, during, and after the Korean War as a member of the U.S. Army Security Agency. Ray retired in 1993 from Latrobe Steel after 38 years as a press operator. Subsequently, he was employed as a safety ranger for the Seven Springs ski patrol for 17 years. An excellent skier, Ray took to many European and U.S. slopes, winning several PA NASTAR outstanding awards in the 60-69 age class. Ray was a lifetime member and past commander of American Legion Post 515 in Latrobe. He was, for many years, the oldest player of the Latrobe/Derry Old-Timers League, being acknowledged by the Pittsburgh Pirates at PNC Park in 2016 for his lengthy achievement. A self-taught craftsman, Ray very much enjoyed woodworking and acrylic design. He was an avid fisherman and hunter and was a lifetime member of Possum Hollow Rod & Gun Club and Kingston Veterans & Sportsman Club. At the time of his passing, Ray was a member of St. Rose Catholic Church and the St. Rose Senior's. In addition to his parents, Ray was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 58 years, Elisabeth Charlotte "Lottie" (Prast) Robb; son, James S. Robb; and daughter, Kimberly A. Skidmore. The last surviving sibling of eight, Ray was preceded in death by his brothers, Howard, Walter, James, Robert, and Charles Robb; and his sisters, Martha Duda and Betty Jane Tua. Ray is survived by his loving daughter, Lynnae P. Gandy; son, Ray Abel (Pilar); son-in-law, William Skidmore (Maribel); grandchildren, Courtney Gandy, Taylor Gandy (Karissa), Cienna Kennedy (Cameron), Preston Gandy (Kyra), and Jason Hamilton (Sherry); great-grandchildren, Addison and Elliot Gandy, Scott Schutt, Jacob and Jaden Hamilton, Rhoads Raymond Kennedy, Raine Elisabeth Kennedy, and Landen Kennedy; and several nieces and nephews. Ray had special in-laws in Austria: his brother-in-law, Peter (Helga); sisters-in-law, Gerti and Erika; and nephew and niece, Clemens Prast (Bianca) and Christianne Weber (Thomas). Family and friends will be received from 3 to 7 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2026, at LOPATICH-BRINKER FUNERAL HOME LLC, 601 Weldon St., Latrobe. Military services will be conducted at 10:45 a.m., Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2026, in the funeral home by the Latrobe-Derry Veterans Honor Guard. A funeral liturgy will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2026, in the funeral home with the Rev. Ron Maquinana officiating. Private interment will be at Unity Cemetery. Floral tributes are welcome, but memorial donations to American Legion Post 515 would be appreciated as well.
