RAYMOND ROOD
Raymond Rood, 89, of Hallstead, PA was reunited with his wife of almost 66 years, Janet Marie, and daughter Tina Marie Van Gorden, in Heaven on December 11, 2024.
Ray is survived by his two sons, John (Veronica) Rood, and Raymond Jr. (Alma) Rood; a son-in-law, David Van Gorden; four grandchildren, Malinda (Richard) Stabell, Megan (Devon) Foster, Josh (Lauren) Rood, and Jordan (Mallorie) Rood; three step grandchildren, Natasja, Ashleigh, and Shanyn; numerous great grandchildren; his two sisters, Betty Dietrich and Dorothy Phoebus; his twin brother and lifelong best friend, Robert Rood Sr.; many nieces, nephews, and extended family members; and his constant companion cat, Blackie.
Prior to his retirement, Ray had over 35 years with Singer Link. He worked for Conklin Players Club for over 20 years. Ray was a member of the Rose Hill Cemetery Association for 32 years. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed playing softball. Ray was a participant in the Coffee Club at McDonalds, where he would join in solving problems and come up with many pranks with his good friend, George Stover, II. He greatly appreciated and loved his neighbors.
A funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m., Saturday, December 14, 2024 at the Tuttle-Yeisley Funeral Home, Inc., Hallstead, PA. Interment will be made in Rose Hill Cemetery, Hallstead, PA. Friends may call from 10-12 at the funeral home, prior to the service. Should friends so desire, memorial contributions may be made to Rose Hill Cemetery, PO Box 814, Hallstead, PA 18822 or to Great Bend/Hallstead Volunteer Ambulance, 5 Carrol Street, Great Bend, PA 18821.
