CARTHAGE - SSG Raymond L. Teiseira, US Army (Ret.), passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 1st, 2025, at Samaritan Summit Village in Watertown, NY, at the age of 93.
Raymond was born on February 26, 1932, in Warren, Rhode Island, to the late Manuel and Mary (Frates) Teiseira. He was raised by his two aunts, Angela Teiseira and Mary Costa, and attended schools in Pennsylvania and Rhode Island
In May of 1949, he enlisted in the United States Army, which became his career for the next 42 years. He was a decorated Veteran who was deployed around the world, including Japan, Korea, and Vietnam. On March 19, 1966, while stationed at the former Camp Drum, now Fort Drum, NY, he married Myrtle Adner in Black River, before being deployed to Vietnam. They travelled extensively throughout the United States and Europe during the remainder of his service. He retired and was honorably discharged from Active Duty in 1982. He continued his service for an additional 10 years with the Army Reserve, eventually making their home in Carthage. Mrs. Teiseira passed away in 2010.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, November 8th, 2025, in the Chapel of the Lundy Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 500 State St., Carthage, with the Rev. Canon Samuel P. Lundy officiating. His burial with Military Honors will follow in the Hillside Cemetery, Natural Bridge. There will be no public calling hours.
