Raymond H. Tetrault, Jr. passed away peacefully at home on January 25 after an extended illness. He was the husband of Mary Anne (Moran) Tetrault, with whom he shared 59 years of marriage.
Born in Salem on September 12, 1941 to the late Raymond H. Tetrault, Sr. and Madeleine (Soucy) Tetrault, he attended school at St. Anne's in Salem and was a graduate of St. John's Prep and Merrimack College, where he and Mary met.
After graduation, he worked for the U.S. Labor Department, which led to moves to Maine and later Virginia. He returned to Salem in 1969 to help his father with the family business, Bernard's Jewelers, which he co-owned and managed along with his brother Tom for decades, serving multiple generations of families on the North Shore.
Known fondly as "Kit" to many friends and family, and as "GP" to his 11 grandchildren, Raymond was raised in a sailing family active with the Palmer Cove Yacht Club. He was a skilled woodworker and automobile enthusiast. He enjoyed golfing and was a member of the Wenham Country Club. He played hockey in his youth and at St. John's, and was a lifelong fan of the Boston Bruins, and he was on the ski team at Merrimack.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by five sons, Mark and wife Lisa of Lawrence; Michael of Charlestown; Paul and wife Deborah of Beverly; Peter of Gloucester; and David and wife Sarah of Beverly; daughter-in-law Gail Simon of Chatham; grandchildren Mark Jr., Nathan, Luke, Emily, Jacqueline, Danielle, Nicolette, Paul Jr. (PJ), Aidan, Simone, and Isaac Tetrault; grand daughter-in-law Riley Tetrault; and great-grandchild, Wells Raymond Tetrault. He also survived by his sister, Caroline May of Lakewood Ranch, FL, and brother, Thomas C. Tetrault of North Kingstown, RI. He was predeceased by his sister, Suzanne Bush.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. John the Evangelist, 111 New Balch Street, Beverly on February 17 at 11 a.m. Family and friends are warmly invited to attend. Interment will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, Beverly. Arrangements by the Campbell Funeral Home. Memorial donations may be made to Care Dimensions, 75 Sylvan St. B-102 Danvers, MA 01923, or the Beverly Catholic Collaborative. Information, directions, condolences at www.campbellfuneral.com.

The Tetraults moved his family next door to us in Beverly. I remember playing basketball in their driveway with Mark and Michael ... and their little brothers, carpooling to the Prep, and campfires at Alt's Pond! I remember Mr. Tetrault as a great man ... wise, strong, Godly, and happy. I'm so sorry to hear the news and pray that all "the boys" find joy in their memories of their father.

I am so sorry to hear of Ray's passing. We bought our engagement ring there in 1973. Ray let my husband open up a personalized payment plan and we never went to another jeweler again! Bought many pieces of jewelry there and had my diamond serviced there regularly. Was sad to see Bernard's go out of business. I bought a Seiko watch there in 1975 and it still works!! Many great memories of Ray helping us out. Pat & Dan Smith
