He was born on May 11, 1940, in San Angelo, Texas to Reymundo and Juanita Torrez. He was employed with Mustang Chevrolet and All American Chevrolet for over 63 years combined, retiring in 2023.

Raymond was well known for his love of cars and music, but had a passion for the trumpet. Raymond never met a stranger and everyone in his neighborhood knew he was there for them. He cherished time with his family and there are no limits to what he would do for them. There are no words to describe the kind of man he was, everyone who knew him loved him.

Raymond is proceeded in death by his wife, Helen Torrez of 40 years; his parents, Reymundo and Juanita Torrez; and brother-in-law, Hector Castro.

He is survived by his children: James Torrez, and wife Cathleen, Ray Torrez and wife Melinda, Kenny Torrez and wife Janell, Lisa Guerra and husband Marty, Tanya Rojas and husband Michael, Cindy Curtis and family. Grandchildren: Ashley Arispe, Tyler Coleman, Michael Morales, Courtney Henry and husband Gage, Brendan Torrez and wife Samantha, Hunter Diego and wife Alexis, Shea Rojas and wife Criselda, Noah Rojas, Raeleigh Torrez, and Marisa and Haylen Guerra; and 13 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother Alfred Torrez and wife, Sally, two sisters: Olga Shackleford and husband Jim, and Linda Castro.
