Raymond Patrick Villery, known to some as "Ray", was born November 16, 1964, in Lake Charles, Louisiana to Marion Villery and Nora Barker Villery. A resident of Lake Charles most of his life, Ray was a devoted member of Christian Baptist Church and a proud graduate of Washington High School, Class of 1982. Ray pursued his passion in music, earning an Associate Degree from McNeese State University. He honorably served his country as a U.S. Army veteran and later built a career as a master plumber and musician, sharing his talents with Zion Travelers Baptist Church in Iowa, Louisiana. Mr. Villery departed this life Wednesday, August 6, 2025, in Lake Charles. He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife, Winnifred Schexnayder Villery; three daughters, Ruby Savoy, Shante Villery Reado, and Brittany Villery; son, Andres Villery; sister, Kathleen (Charles) Parker Jr.; brother, Merlyn Villery; sixteen grandchildren, Antaja, Treveon, Ethan, Dontrelynn, Kaylee, Alysah, Kailani, Ariana, Kingston, Kayson, Aubrey, Davyn, Kody, Kobi, and Makari; and a host of other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by is parents, Marion and Nora Villery; sister, Glenda (Ronnie) Roberson; brother, Kevin Villery; sister-in-law, Karen Schexnayder; and brother-in-law, Robert Schexnayder Jr. His visitation will be Saturday, August 16, 2025, from 9AM with his funeral following at 11AM, at Christian Baptist Church located at 202 N. Franklin Street in Lake Charles. Pastor Edward J. Alexander will officiate. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery under the direction of James Funeral Home.
