Raymond Kenneth Wittig
Raymond Wittig, 86, of Hungerford, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, January 29, 2024. Raymond was born on July 24, 1937, on Jarvis Creek in Wharton to the late Clarence and Frieda Koch Wittig.
Raymond was raised Wharton and attended school in Wharton. After high school, he was drafted into the U.S. Army, serving honorably from 1960 -1963. He later worked at Lamar Tractor in Rosenberg, and Wharton Tractor in Wharton as a mechanic. He also farmed and ranched. Raymond enjoyed hunting, working cattle and spending time with his family. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Selma Wittig, Robert Wittig, Albert Wittig and Leroy Wittig.
Raymond is survived by his sons, Kenneth Wittig and wife, Theresa, Forrest Wittig and wife, Melissa and Shawn Wittig and wife, Amber, grandchildren, Darrell Hawley and wife, Erin, Eric Hawley, Krista Wittig, Toby Wittig, Dharma Frost and husband Diego, Lucas Wittig, Logan Wittig, Hayden Wittig, Jaylynn Wittig and Makayla Wittig, sister, Helen Thomas and Edith Thonsgaard, brothers, Leonard Wittig, Herman Wittig and Howard Wittig and one great grandchild on the way.
Visitation is Friday, February 2, 2024, after 9 am at St John Luthern Church in Wharton with funeral services following at 10 am. Burial will be in the Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery.

Funeral services are under the direction of Wharton Funeral Home.
