Reagan Tate Obituary

Reagan Douglas Tate, age 75, of Brookfield, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 4, 2026, at his home.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 8, 2026, at 12:00 noon at Wright Funeral Home in Brookfield with Mark Saccaro officiating. Burial will follow at Morris Chapel Cemetery near Purdin with full Military Honors provided by VFW Post #4557 of Brookfield. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
Memorials to Morris Chapel Cemetery may be left at Wright Funeral Home, or mailed to Christina Tate at 709 3rd Street, Purdin, Mo 64674.
Reagan Douglas Tate was born in Kirksville, Missouri on July 24, 1950. His parents were Edgar "Bud" Tate and Dora "Dote" Fowler Tate of Purdin.
Reagan went to school at Purdin and Browning, graduating in 1968. He then attended Northeast Missouri State College. After a year, he joined the U.S. Navy where he proudly served for four years.
After the Navy, Reagan worked several jobs as rock truck driver which led him to O'Laughlin's in Marceline. He was the manager and truck driver for 35 years until his retirement at the age of 70. He then was called back to work full and part-time for two more years. He lived in Brookfield, Missouri for most of his adult life.
Reagan was married to Sandy Parn and to this union a daughter, Melanie, was born in 1979.
Reagan never met a stranger with his outgoing personality and great sense of humor. Reagan made many friends that were very important to him. He collected small International Tractors and anything Navy. He loved to garden, watch the Kansas City Chiefs and drink a cold beer!
Reagan was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Melanie Saccaro; and sister, Peggy Tate Bennett.
Reagan is survived by his grandson, Tate Saccaro and son-in-law, Mark Saccaro of Kansas City; two sisters, Nancy Spencer (Dean) of Browning and Christina Tate of Purdin; one nephew, Austin Bennett (Jenn) of Richmond; two nieces, Kacie Calhoun (Jimmy), and Paige Walters (Jesse) both of St. Joseph; great grandnephews, Jameson Calhoun, Bennett and Cohen Walters; and a great grandniece, Paityn Walters.
Reagan is also survived by the love of his life, Mindy Britton of the home; stepchildren, Kacey Collier (Jimmy) of Lawson and Zach Britton (Monica) of Brookfield; grandchildren, Draven ad Slade Collier, Jayden Britton, Rachel Gladbach and Shelby Sattman; and great grandchildren, Lany, Asher and Brynlee.
Reagan will be greatly missed by so many.
