Lois Tucker, 90, of Hot Springs, Arkansas, formerly of Russellville, passed away Saturday, March 22, 2025, at Village Springs Health and Rehab in Hot Springs. She was born March 20, 1935, in Lamar, Arkansas, to Dee and Roxie Price Whorton.
Lois was a Licensed Practical Nurse and spent 45 dedicated years serving others at St. Mary's Regional Medical Center. She was known not only for her impeccable work ethic and passion for patient care. She was also devoted to her family as a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a longtime member of Restoration Church. Her Faith in Jesus was an important part of her life.
She found joy in life's simple pleasures – reading, sewing, gardening, canning, and most of all, spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, who were the light of her life.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Tucker; her parents; her son, Alan Tucker; her grandson, Ryan Tucker; two brothers, Franklin and Willie B. Whorton; and three sisters, Sena Bell Parsons, Margaret Hardgrave, and her twin sister, Rita Joyce Price.
Survivors include her son, Kent Tucker and wife Karen of Russellville; her daughter, Sandy Davis and husband Robbie of Jessieville; four grandchildren, Jeff Tucker (Sarah), Jaclyn Julian (Brad), Chloe Cook (Hunter), and Charlie Davis; five great-grandchildren, Harrison, Avery, and Elliott Tucker, and Emmy and Brooks Julian; one sister, Patsy Carothers of Fort Worth, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, March 27, 2025, at Humphrey Chapel with Mike McNeely, Sandy Davis, and Chloe Cook officiating. Burial will follow at Bethel Cemetery in Russellville under the direction of Humphrey Funeral Service. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. As a new RN I worked nights with Lois at St Mary´s in 1967-1972. She was so helpful and kind to nurses and patients. A very special nurse.
