Rebecca Susan (Williams) Adams, 76, of Newport, departed this life on March 17, 2025. She was born in Newport on January 21, 1949, to Edward Oscar and Truie Lovella (Williams) Williams.
Rebecca was a devoted mother, sister, grandmother, aunt, and friend whose greatest joy came from spending time with her family. She had a heart full of love and laughter, always bringing smiles to those around her.
She enjoyed fishing and deer hunting, embracing the peace and adventure of the outdoors. Whether casting a line or waiting patiently in the woods, she found happiness in the simple pleasures of life. Her quick wit, warm spirit, and joyful laughter made her a cherished presence in the lives of many.
Rebecca's legacy of love, laughter, and strength will continue to live on through her family and the countless lives she touched. She will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her son, Mark Dewhitt, her daughter, Tamatha Allgood, her sister, Charlotte Marr, her granddaughter, Joselyn Beede, her grandson, Nicky Allgood, and four great grandchildren.
She is survived by her sons, Matt Adams (Rebecca) of Newport, and Rayvis DeWhitt of Lake City; her stepson, Robert Dean Adams (Polly) of Beedeville: her stepdaughters, Kim Benefield of Beedeville, and Amanda Scudder of Tuckerman; her sister, Carol Little of Olyphant; seventeen grandchildren, and a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers are James Mabry, Perry Mabry, Decoda DeWhitt, Matthew Pyle, J.R. Adams, and T.J. DeWhitt.
Service will be at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, March 21, 2025, at Dillinger Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 on Thursday March 20, 2025.
