Rebecca Clifford Obituary

Rebecca Jean (Wade) Clifford passed away peacefully on September 15th. She left behind an adoring family including son Michael Winfield Clifford and wife Shari, daughter Julie Clifford Herodes and husband Howie, 4 grandchildren, Alden Howard Herodes, Logan Wade Herodes, Samantha Jean Clifford and Wyatt Winfield Clifford, sisters-in-law, Nilla Wade, Miriam Wade, Judy Hodgdon and Claire Clifford, brother-in-law John Hodgdon, along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins that she thought the world of.
Becky was born on May 14, 1948, to Charles and Jean Wade. She was the youngest of 4, predeceased by her 3 siblings Charles (Chuck) Wade, Ormand (Brud) Wade and Susan (Wade) Pinkham. She lived in the Wade farmhouse in Boothbay from birth until she married and moved right next door, but in time she made her way back to the beloved farm. When the maintenance became too much in 2004, she and her late husband Ronnie moved to Wiscasset, but her heart never left that cherished home.
Becky met her husband Ronnie when she was 12 years old. Their love stood the test of time. They were married for just shy of 60 years. In their retirement years they were inseparable and could often be seen driving through Boothbay Harbor and Damariscotta looking for the perfect place for Becky to walk. She walked 6 miles a day for that same 60 years!
Becky spent many years in banking, first at First Federal and then at Bath Savings Bank. Her customers adored her. She had other jobs along the way including baking pies for all of the local restaurants, waitressing, and running the hospital coffee shop. No matter what she did, one thing always remained the same: she did it exceptionally well while being impeccably dressed!
To say that Becky adored her family is an understatement and they adored her right back! Because of this, she considered herself the luckiest person on earth! She was bursting with pride over her children and grandchildren; no matter what they did, she was their #1 fan. If you spent more than a couple of minutes with her, you were going to hear about how incredible they all were whether you wanted to or not.
She was loving and kind and sweet to her core. Nothing exemplified this more than her labors of love when she cooked for her family. Not only was she a phenomenal cook, she also spent countless hours at family meals ensuring that each person got exactly what they wanted even if it meant we had 7 pies and 3 main courses!
She loved when the sun was shining outside and she brought that same warmth and light to everyone she ever met. She was pure love and will be dearly missed.
A memorial service will be held Hall Funeral Home, 975 Wiscasset Road, Boothbay on Sunday, October 19th at 1:00pm with a reception to follow.
