Rebecca Elisabeth Lamont Obituary

Published by D'Anjolell Stigale Memorial Home & Cremation Services, Inc. of Aston on Jan. 11, 2022.
Rebecca "Becca" Elisabeth Lamont of Salinas, CA, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ surrounded by loved ones. She was born on August 13, 1981 and passed into glory after a brief illness, at the age 40, on January 11, 2022, in West Chester, PA. Becca was born in Bryn Mawr, PA and lived in Delaware County until the age of 7 when her family relocated to Apple Valley, MN. She spent her childhood in Minnesota, graduating from Bethany Christian Academy in Bloomington, MN after which, she received a Bachelor's degree in Sociology and Psychology at Covenant College in Lookout Mountain, GA. Realizing she wanted to make an impact for God's Kingdom on future generations, she went on to earn a Master of Arts degree in Education at Bethel University in St. Paul, MN. Becca is survived by her mother, Janis C. Lamont of Chadds Ford, PA; father, David P. Lamont of Dunnellon, FL; brother, Christopher D. Lamont of Philadelphia, PA; sister, Michelle Renee Dunphy and brother-in-law Matthew of Kennett Square, PA; niece Madelyn Dunphy and nephew Danny Dunphy; and her loveable tortoise cat, Cali. She is also survived by many wonderful friends whom she was blessed to know and love. Becca was proceeded in death by her grandparents, Lawrence and Johanna Cistola and John and Phyllis Lamont. Becca's passions begin with her absolute love for Jesus. She often wrote the phrase, "Jesus Saves" on many postings which reflects how she wanted to tell others about the good news of salvation that could be found only by trusting and following Jesus. She was a gifted middle school history teacher and taught for eight years in middle schools located in MN, CA, and in Bolivia where she was able to use her Spanish speaking skills at Carachipampa Christian School. The Lord called Becca in July 2019 to serve as the local Director of Child Evangelism Fellowship (CEF) NorCal/Central Coast of California. This was a wonderful blending her passion to teach and to reach children with the good news of Jesus Christ. She longed to see the lives of precious children changed as they heard the gospel message. She showed compassion for the elderly by volunteering in a nursing home when she was a teen and seeking out seniors to love throughout her life. She focused on showing God's love to those she met, which is reflected by many people who refer to her as their closest friend. Becca loved to sing on the worship team at Cypress Community Church of Monterey County where she was a member. She excelled at staying in touch with family and friends on all types of media and sent many cards and letters. She enjoyed travel, hiking, the ocean, reading and sharing quips through her hysterical sense of humor. No one will forget the sound of her captivating, charismatic voice and her gregarious laugh. She will be dearly missed by so many whose lives were deeply touched and forever changed by knowing this faithful daughter of the heavenly Father, who greeted her by saying "well done, good and faithful servant." Friends and family are invited to pay their respects on Friday, January 21 from 6 to 8 pm at D'Anjolell-Stigale Memorial Home, located at 3260 Concord Road, Aston, PA. On Saturday, January 22, a burial procession will convene at 10 am from Covenant Fellowship Church located at 1 Fellowship Drive in Glen Mills to Union Hill Cemetery in Kennett Square, for a short graveside service at 11am. A Celebration of Life service will begin at 1pm at Covenant Fellowship Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are requested in Becca's name to CEF NorCal Central Coast online at: www.cefnorcal.org/cef-norcal-chapters/central-coast or by mailing to: 1020 Merrill St, Suite 2002, Salinas, CA 93901.

Ms. Lamont was a teacher of mine when i was in 7th grade back in 2017. I still think about her and her kindness. She helped me through some great battles with my mental health. And her love for her students is like nothing i´ve seen before. I know she hears me, and i know she looks out for me. I miss her. Sometimes I wish i could speak with her again just to hear her make a joke or to see her beautiful face laugh one more time. May she rest in peace knowing she had all the love in the world from friends, family, and her students. We will never forget you.

Becca, you never ceased to amaze me with your creativity and zeal for life. Your love for Jesus both convicted and encouraged me. You were my biggest cheerleader so many times. Your confidence in me gave me confidence in myself. Although we only knew each other for a little over two years your impact on my life is unquestionable. You, my beautiful friend, are so loved and already incredibly missed. Until we meet again in glory!

With much love for a funny, spunky, but faithful follower of Christ.

Lesa and I prayed for Becca to recover, but along with our Savior Jesus, we often must say "Not my will, but thine be done." As Job said at the loss of his children, "The Lord has given, and the Lord has taken away, blessed be the name of the Lord." We mourn along with the family and many friends the loss of this precious sister in the Lord, but we know that God's wisdom is greater than ours. He has his purposes in all things, and even when we cannot understand the "why" of what he does, we continue to love and trust him that Romans 8:28 is true.

I met Becca in Cochabamba 10 years ago. I was a substitute teacher at CCS. Our apartments were beside each other. I will never forget her love of life, her vivaciousness, her love of her students & her infectious laugh.
I'm so sorry for your loss. I know she is now dancing & singing with Jesus.
Love Lynda
