Rebecca Egge Moos passed away on August 13th, 2025. She had just turned 78.

Becky grew up in Saint Cloud, MN. She graduated as a French major from the University of Minnesota. She then worked several jobs, the most memorable perhaps is as a cocktail waitress, using her pseudo name Carmelita, at the old Flame Room. She later attended U of M law school and spent her legal career serving as a defense lawyer for Bassford Remele. She was a trailblazer as the first female partner in her law firm and the firm's first female CEO. She adored her Bassford colleagues and considered them as family. She wore panty hose and pencil skirts with shoulder padded blazers like nobody's business. She tried multiple civil cases to verdict during her career. With her unique blend of fairness, tenacity, curiosity and respect, Becky earned a reputation of excellence in her field, inspiring and mentoring many along the way. One year she was Minnesota Attorney of the Year.

Happily married for nearly 45 years, Becky and Karl were the loves of each other's lives. When Becky married Karl, she not only found a husband but also gained two bonus daughters in Kendra and Coco, who became a cherished part of her family and heart. They added to the family in the following years with the births of two more daughters, Erica and Greta. They built a lifetime of joy, rich in experiences. They traveled across the world, from Shanghai to New Orleans, Tanzania to Montana. Becky's favorites were warm Florida breezes, combing the Sanibel and Captiva beaches for shells and watching the sun dip into the ocean, and serene summer nights in Wisconsin, overlooking their beloved Bass Lake from their screened in porch. She hosted hundreds of dinner events for Karl's Macalester students as well as family and friends.

She was an exceptional mother and grandmother. She lovingly welcomed each grandchild to the family with beautifully knit blankets and booties. She boasts the greatest collection of Tonka trucks and first responder vehicles, Bizzy Bear books and Barbies and had an endless imagination that her grandchildren were in awe of. She aways made sure grandkids had activities and fun whenever they visited, and she always knew what the most popular toy at Christmas would be; audible gasps of joy were her reward!

Physical fitness was always important to Becky; she wore out her Jane Fonda and Denise Austin cassettes and never missed an ab day. She was a wonderful hostess and home chef. She followed Sam Sifton from NYT Cooking, Deb Perlman from Smitten Kitchen and looked forward to being the first person at the St. Paul Farmers' Market on Saturday mornings. She had a special love for vegetables and got great joy out of her bounties of tomatoes, green beans, garlic, kohlrabi, corn and zucchini. Her nightly dinner table not only featured a range of delicious dishes but was always accompanied by real burning candles and ironed cloth napkins. Chardonnay with a few ice cubes in it was her cocktail of choice.

Upon retirement from law, Becky continued her passion of being a lifelong learner. She took online classes through the U of M, including classes in disciplines such as Space, Iran, Biology and even an Economics Class!

Becky was often described as "the woman you want to emulate". She loved her husband, her family, she excelled at work and made our home a loving destination where everyone wanted to be. One of her mottos was to give more than you take from the world, from conversation, from relationships. She did just that, which has left an unfillable hole in our hearts. She will forever be missed and remembered as the absolute best.

Becky is survived by her husband Karl Egge. She was a devoted stepmother to Kendra Wilde (Peter) of Jackson, WY, and Coco Davis (Todd) of Seattle, mother to Erica Hageman (John) of St. Anthony Village and Greta Egge (Greg Slover) of Minneapolis. She was a beloved Grandmother to 9 grandchildren – five in their 20's and four under 10 years old: George, Charlie, and Henry Wilde; Natalie and Alice Fulton; Connor and Maya Hageman, and Beau and Wells Slover. She is also survived by her three sisters, Mary Moos, Margaret Moos Pick, Kate Moos (Val Arganbright); sisters and brothers-in-law Gladys Henrikson (Laurie), Peter Egge (Norma), and Marian Egge; and 8 nieces and nephews including Sara Janz of Minneapolis. She is preceded in death by her parents Phil and Marva Moos, and sister Martha Moos.

Services will be held Friday, September 5th at 1pm, at House of Hope Church in St. Paul, MN. To honor Becky's vibrant spirit, please wear something colorful and joyful. In lieu of flowers, Becky would be delighted if you donated to a favorite charity or visited your local Farmer's Market and found something that made you as happy as fresh tomatoes did for her.

I went to Law School with Becky. I was so happy to meet her again sitting outside of my condo building with her sister Mary who lives here also. It was only a week or two ago. Our paths went in different directions but it was a blessing to connect with her. Condolences to Mary and all of the sisters

I knew Rebecca briefly in college, and as I read now of her illustrious career and her positive impact on so many, I am not surprised the young collegian I knew then became such an accomplished adult. I also remember fondly her sisters, Mary and Margaret, in college. I still remember them doing the Mobius Strip together at a gala event back in the day. R.I.P.

Becky was a true mentor, I live by her words. Her most treasured advice was nothing to to with law, but about housekeeping when I was struggling with young kids, a law practice, and relatives coming to visit. Becky freed me to accept that my house would never be perfectly clean, and I still think of Becky every day as I walk out the door of a less than perfectly clean house!

Rebecca was a woman to be emulated and admired to be sure. At every gathering with the Moos sisters I found myself inspired, welcomed, and enriched for the time we had together. With love and peace.
