Rebecca Ann "Becky" Phillips, age 68 of Carrollton passed away Friday, October 17, 2025 at St. John's Hospital in Springfield. She was born February 14, 1957 (Valentine baby on her mother's 22nd birthday) to Harry Lee and Helena Gehlhausen Moss. She married Rick Phillips June 4, 1977 at St. John's Catholic Church in Carrollton.
She is survived by her husband, Rick, a son, Brad Phillips of Carrollton, a sister Betsy Hearn of Kane; several nieces and nephews, cousins, and a big family of friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, many family members and friends. Always told everyone-"I Love You" "I Got Your Back" She will be sadly missed by many. She loved to cook, sew, play cards, motorcycle rides, eat out and good cup of coffee. Always a smile on her face and could lift up a room. You always knew where you stood with her, because she would tell you.
Becky attended St. John's Grade School. She graduated Carrollton High School in 1975. Attended Lewis and Clark 2 years graduated in 1977 with and associate degree in childcare and baby sat in her home with several young ones. After the young kids grew up, she went to work as a head start teacher for IVEDC. She delivered meals on wheels in Carrollton. Becky also worked for daycares in Carrollton, White Hall, and Carlinville, worked in the laundry, kitchen, and cooking at Boyd Hospital in Carrollton.
A private graveside service will be held at a later date in St. John's Catholic Church in Carrollton. Memorials may be made to St. John's Cemetery or St. John's Catholic Church. Airsman-Hires Funeral Home in Carrollton is assisting the family. Condolences may be left online at www.airsman-hires.com
