     Rebecca Leigh Womick, 70, of Marion, passed away Sunday, April 7, 2024, at her residence.

 

     Rebecca was born in McDowell County, NC on March 5, 1954, to the late Ted King and Faye Davis King. She was married to her husband of 3 years, Daniel “Boo” Womick. Rebecca played basketball at Glenwood High School and was with the first graduating class of McDowell High School in 1973. She loved listening to music, going to the beach, and going on picnics. She will be greatly missed. 

 

     Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Boo Womick; a son, De Von Ted Johnson (Esther May); a daughter, Rosetta Faye Thomas (Tim); and nine grandchildren, De Von Ted Johnson, II, Everett James Johnson, Anastasia Cherise Johnson, D’Artagnan Dakota Johnson, Desiree Chantelle Johnson, Zane Marshall Johnson, Colton Alexander Johnson, Tristan Shiloh Johnson, and Sapphire Nichole Wiles (Jordan). 

 

     A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, April 11, 2024, at the Chapel of Beam Funeral Service. Rev. Dennis Hensley will officiate. Burial will follow at North Cove Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m., prior to the service, at the funeral home. 

 

     Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Carolina Foothills, 374 Hudlow Rd, Forest City, NC 28043.
