Redmond Gil Patrick
April 4, 1964 – August 29, 2025

Redmond Gil Patrick, 61, of Pooler, Georgia, passed away peacefully on August 29, 2025, surrounded by his beloved wife, Charlene, and family. Born on April 4, 1964, in Savannah, GA, Gil spent most of his life in Pooler, where he built a legacy of love, laughter, and craftsmanship. Although named Redmond, he was lovingly known by his middle name, Gil, which he proudly carried throughout his life.

Gil was the son of the late Joseph Osborne Patrick and Alda Gil Patrick. He was the youngest of five children: Infant Joseph Lee Patrick (deceased); Harold (Marsha) Patrick of Friendsville, TN; Richard O. (Gloria) Patrick of Griffin, GA; and Wanda Sue (Harold) Brinson of Midway, GA.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Charlene J. Patrick, whom he lovingly called his "sunshine." Their love story began in 1990 at Randall's, a Country Western bar in Pooler, GA, where they danced the night away and began a journey that blossomed into a home filled with warmth and laughter. He also leaves behind two sons, Joseph Lee (Nancy) Patrick of Blackshear, GA, and Justin Osborne (Nefertia) Patrick of Chicago, IL; along with several nieces, nephews, and dear friends including Tim Snyder, Mike Pearce, and Dennis Spikes.

A talented Master Carpenter, Gil shared his gift for building with both family and the community. He proudly served as a volunteer with the City of Savannah Restoration Team at the National Museum of the Mighty Eighth Air Force, where he combined his love of history and craftsmanship. He also contributed to the restoration of historic buildings in downtown Savannah, leaving behind a legacy that will endure for generations.

Gil was a man of many passions. He loved planes and his time at the Mighty Eighth Air Force, enjoyed snowboarding, golfing, playing horseshoes, and was known as a devoted horse lover. He especially cherished his time on Tybee Island - putting his feet in the water, sailing, and walking along the shoreline.

Among family, he will fondly be remembered as "the fun uncle," always ready with a joke, a story, or a smile. His faith and values guided him, and his favorite saying, "Grab it and growl," will live on in the hearts of those who loved him.

A memorial service to celebrate Gil's life will be held on Thursday, September 4, 2025, on Tybee Island (by invitation only).

Gil's family finds comfort in knowing that his legacy of love, kindness, and laughter will continue through the many lives he touched. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
