Skowhegan-Reginald Paul "Reggie" Strout, 67, passed away on October 30, 2025. Born on February 27, 1958, in Augusta, Maine, Reggie was a humble man who carried a love for history and antiquing. He was known as a thoughtful individual, always considerate of those around him. His intelligence was not just evident in his career as a teacher but also in his everyday conversations and interactions.

Reggie, fondly known as Reggi or Reg to his friends and family, would often immerse himself in the pages of history books or explore antique shops, hoping to find that special item. He was a devoted participant in the reenactments at Fort Western, sharing his passion for history with those around him. His love for his two cats, Smokey and Kuschka, was a testament to his compassionate nature. For Reggie, his cats provided solace and companionship.

Reggie served in the United States Army, a contribution to his country that spoke volumes about his character. His career as a public-school teacher allowed him to influence many young minds with his intelligence and dedication to education. Despite his achievements, Reggie remained a modest man, always focusing more on the achievements of others rather than his own.

He is survived by his brothers, Scott Strout and his wife Dawna of Chelsea, Randall Strout of Chelsea, and Robert Strout Jr. and his wife Gail of Chelsea; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Reggie was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Strout Sr. and Georgie Strout. His life and legacy will continue to live on through the lives of those he touched.

At the family's request all services will be private with interment in the spring at Maine Veterans Cemetery in Augusta. Arrangements and guidance are in the care of Staples Funeral Home, 53 Brunswick Ave, Gardiner, ME. Condolences, memories and photos may be shared with the family on the obituary page of the Staples Funeral Home website www.StaplesFuneralHome.com
