Ms. Regina (Morgan) Best, age 68 of Pittsboro, NC transitioned to eternal rest Monday, January 15, 2024, at The Laurels of Chatham in Pittsboro, NC.
Regina Morgan Best was born February 12, 1955, to Isabel Bryant and Fealia Morgan in Washington DC.
Regina Morgan Best also known as Big Nina graduated from McKinley Technology High School in 1973. She attended Prince George's Community College where she was a cheerleader.
She married retired veteran, Michael Best in 1975 and they were married for 20 years. While stationed in Germany she was in the band and worked at the PX on base. She was a competitive bowler in several leagues. Big Nina was a devoted wife and mother which led to her being the mayor of the Ardennes community while living in Fort Bragg, North Carolina. Anyone who knew big Nina knew she was a die-hard Washington Redskin fan. And please don't start with her about sports because she was a fan of it all.
Big Nina is survived by her for children, daughters, Nkechi (Paul) Spinner (Cols, Oh), and Nakishata (Aaron) Wharton (Chapel Hill, NC) and sons, Nakia and Nakila Best, both of Washington, DC; fifteen grandkids, and fifteen great-grandkids; sister, Annette Brown of Clinton, Maryland; brother, Dennis Morgan of Washington, DC; a host of nieces, nephews, and adopted children.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Isabel Morgan Bryant; father, Fealia Morgan; sisters, Perine Parker, Barbara Jones, Geraldine Barfield, Dolores Daniels, Betty Green and Irene Cohen; and one brother, Bo Morgan.
