Regina (Gina) L. Devita, 67, of Ambler, PA died on March 4, 2025, after a brief illness. She was born in Philadelphia, PA on March 24, 1957, to the late Joseph A. and Regina (Curran) Devita. She was raised by her maternal grandparents, Loretta (Poth) Merryman and Joseph Merryman, who she lovingly called mom and pop.
Gina graduated from Little Flower High School in 1976 and received additional education at Manor Junior College. Her career was spent as a dedicated federal employee at the Defense Logistics Agency-Troop Support in Philadelphia. She retired in 2014 after a 30-year career during which she proudly received multiple promotions and ended her tenure as a Quality Assurance Specialist in the Construction & Equipment Supply Chain.
In her free time, she enjoyed attending concerts of all music genres, local Arts & Crafts festivals, as well as Auto and Dog shows. She loved sharing the Philadelphia Folk festival experience with her Pop. Gina especially liked sharing new restaurant experiences with her family and friends. Later in life, she was an active member of the "Say What Club" when she developed hearing loss. The club traveled for their annual convention in 2015 to San Antonio, Texas. Gina recalled a fun time was had by all. She later received a cochlear implant which improved her hearing ability tremendously.
One of Gina's greatest joys in life came from her love of pugs. She had many pugs as pets in her lifetime, Dolly, Dolly 2, Katie Beth, Ginger and Lucy to name a few. She collected many pug statues, pictures, blankets, and stuffed toys when she could no longer have a pet in her home. These pug mementos brought her much joy.
She is survived by her sister Rosemarie Azbell, brother Paul Devita, her aunt Rita Zornick and uncle John Zornick along with many cousins. Regina was predeceased by her sisters, Linda and Carol and brother Joseph. Relatives and friends are invited to her Memorial Service on Saturday, March 29, 2025, at 11:00 AM at the Emil J. Ciavarelli Funeral Homes and Crematory, 951 East Butler Pike, Ambler, PA 19002. A visitation will be held from 10:30 -11:00 AM. Interment will be Private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in Regina's name to SPCA (pspca.org), Caring for Friends (caringforfriends.org) and American Diabetes Association (diabetes.org).
