Regina "Cookie" Krusas

Sturbridge: Regina A. "Cookie" (Engvall) Krusas, 80, of Cricket Dr., passed away on Thursday, Oct. 27th, in the UMass Memorial Medical Center, University Campus, Worcester, after a long illness.
Her husband, James J. Krusas, passed away in 2019. She leaves her three children, Laurie A. Krusas Petersen and her husband H. William III of Brimfield, Lynne M. Snyder and her husband Jeffrey J. of Brimfield and James M. Krusas and his husband Douglas W. Mose of Chicago, IL; four grandchildren, Miranda Rose Snyder, Jason Jeffrey Snyder, Ella Victoria Petersen and JulieAnne Eva "Jules" Petersen. She was predeceased by her five brothers, Russell Engvall, Gene Engvall, Carl Engvall, Gordon Engvall and Richard Engvall. Cookie was born in Worcester the daughter of August B. and Bertha Victoria (Lundquist) Engvall and she grew up in the Quinsigamond Village section of Worcester.
Cookie was a teacher's aide at Burgess Elementary in Sturbridge for several years, retiring many years ago. After her grandchildren were born Cookie became a full time 'MorMor'. She adored her grandchildren and never missed an event of theirs. She was also a loving caregiver to her husband for many years. She was well known for her baking skills and was very proud of her Swedish heritage. She was an avid reader and loved going to the library in Sturbridge. Cookie also loved Cape Cod.
Her funeral will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 2nd, from the Daniel T. Morrill Funeral Home, 130 Hamilton St., Southbridge, with a Mass at 11:00am in St. Christopher's Church, 120 Main St., Brimfield. A calling hour in the funeral home will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 2nd, from 9:30 to 10:30am, prior to the Mass. Burial will be private.
